Biography and artistic approach

In addition to this, you need to know more about it.

Native of Quebec, I spent my childhood in Saguenay, studied Visual Arts at UQAC, lived in Montreal for several years, then moved to the Laurentians, where I still live. Teacher in high school plastic arts for several years, while continuing an artistic activity and exhibitions, I left teaching 6 years ago and quite naturally painting has taken its place in my life. My personality and my style asserts itself.

My approach, exploration in all its forms ... Painting is my first means of expression and the links which allow a better understanding of my work are woven by themselves, the versatility of the materials, nourish my creativity. Art has no borders.

For me, creation is first of all letting go and the response to an irresistible call from the unknown and to allow the imagination to inhabit a physical space, and to intangible feelings and emotions of speak out. It's a long process that allows me to withdraw into myself and let the gesture express itself freely, the image is born and grows in a gestural and abstract way. The progression of the work imposes the need to make choices, to add or delete, because the painting obeys its own rules, and it walks a little in spite of myself, towards simplicity and authenticity.
My paintings are suggestions, impressions, fleeting, ambivalent moments, undefined places that leave room for the viewer and his interpretation. Creation brings me to new explorations and to new challenges. I go where my imagination leads me.
